Cairn Homes Appoints Pat Farrell to Board as Non-Executive Director

Housebuilder Cairn Homes has appointed Pat Farrell to its board as a non-executive director, bringing extensive experience across Irish real estate, banking, public policy and stakeholder engagement to the company.
Farrell will join the board on October 1. He most recently served as chief executive of Irish Institutional Property (IIP), an organisation representing institutional investors. He stepped down from the position earlier this year.
Before joining IIP, Farrell was head of group communications and government relations at Bank of Ireland, where he was responsible for the bank’s external engagement and stakeholder strategy. His career also includes a tenure as chief executive of Banking & Payments Federation Ireland, the representative body for Ireland’s banking and payments sector.
Farrell previously served on the executive committee of the European Banking Federation, giving him experience in representing the interests of the financial services industry at a European level.
In addition to his corporate and financial services experience, Farrell has held prominent roles in Irish public life. He is a former general secretary of Fianna Fáil and a former senator. He currently serves as a non-executive director of estate agency group Sherry FitzGerald and is a strategic adviser to Fexco Group.
