NEP Strengthens Live Production Capabilities Across Europe

NEP Group, a top media services provider for live sports and entertainment globally, today revealed the introduction of EU-01, its latest outside broadcast unit, marking another significant advancement in its plan to create new units based on a shared technical framework intended for operation throughout European markets.

The method provides clients with a reliable production experience, utilizing known tools, workflows, and production settings no matter where their events occur throughout the region.

Developed on a shared IP-centric technical framework, EU-01 employs a hybrid strategy, integrating software-defined functionalities with conventional hardware-based systems designed to function cohesively.

This provides NEP enhanced flexibility to allocate production capacity throughout European markets while maintaining a familiar operational environment for clients and production teams.

The NEP Platform, the largest ecosystem of reliable software applications for live media production, is instrumental in this standardized method, assisting teams in rapidly deploying and configuring software-defined features while efficiently adapting to the changing demands of live production.

Engineered to meet UEFA technical standards, EU-01 can accommodate the highest tiers of international production while still being adaptable for various sports, entertainment, and other live events. The unit will start aiding ESPN's coverage of the Eredivisie in the Netherlands and will be featured at the IBC Show 2026, allowing customers and partners to visit EU-01 in person.

“Our clients seek assurance that regardless of where they operate in Europe, they will have access to the trusted tools, workflows, and production environments they rely on,” stated Lise Heidal, President of NEP Europe.

“That is what we are working towards with a more uniform fleet. EU-01 implements strategy provides our teams with the consistency and flexibility to swiftly address customer demands while ensuring a smooth production experience no matter where their events occur,” adds Lise Heidal.

NEP Europe’s standardized method allows production teams to transition effortlessly across markets while utilizing familiar tools and processes. It also provides NEP with increased flexibility to allocate production capacity among countries as customer demands evolve, assisting in optimising the scale and use of its European fleet.

The strategy is based on NEP’s earlier introduction of EU-03 this year, which features the NEP Platform and TFC, facilitating hybrid production through the integration of conventional broadcasting equipment and software-defined functionalities.

Within EU-01, the NEP Platform manages reliable software applications via a unified, secure interface, streamlining configuration and facilitating quicker deployment of production-ready features. At its inception, EU-01 employs Lawo HOME, Manifold, and Bridge Technologies’ VB440 via the NEP Platform, showcasing the integration of software-defined functionalities with conventional broadcast equipment.
