Nine New Restaurants in Belgium Awarded Michelin Stars

In the 2026 edition of the esteemed Michelin Guide, unveiled at Antwerp's Handelsbeurs, nine eateries in Belgium have received Michelin stars.

Included among the recent honorees is La Table – Lasne, located in Walloon Brabant and helmed by Chef Alain Bianchin.

He had recently transitioned from his former establishment in Jezus-Eik, which he left due to extended road construction that adversely affected his customer base.

Bianchin conveyed his joy and sense of relief upon quickly reclaiming a Michelin star. All eight of the newly awarded Michelin-starred restaurants are situated in the Flanders region.

In Borgerhout, Bloesem, under the leadership of chefs Brend Geudens and Nebo Schamp, has been added to the list. Atelier Noun, guided by Bert Castermans, secures its place in Leefdaal, while Agnes, led by Thomas Locus in Sint-Martens-Bodegem, is recognized among the distinguished honorees.

The culinary establishment Komaf in Wommelgem, led by Chef Anthony Stoop, along with Gentbrugge's Moscou under the direction of Danny Horseele, and Subtiel in La Panne, helmed by Stéphane Buyens, formerly of the Michelin-starred Le Fox, have all been awarded stars.

Furthermore, Vintage, under the culinary expertise of Chef Cyril Moulin in Kontich, alongside Est, helmed by Abel Demeestere in Heverlee, have both earned spots in the selection.

The establishment known as The Jane, under the culinary leadership of Chef Nick Bril, successfully reacquired its prestigious two Michelin stars promptly following its relocation.

In the Benelux 2026 guide, just a single restaurant has been officially elevated to the prestigious two-star Michelin status. This new addition is Cuines 33, under the culinary direction of chef Edwin Menue, situated in Knokke. In this year's guide, the restaurants in Brussels performed poorly, as none of the establishments in the capital were awarded a new star.

Three dining establishments in Brussels experienced a loss of their Michelin stars. In Uccle, Le Pigeon Noir encountered this outcome, as did Senzanome in the Sablon area.

Meanwhile, La Villa Lorraine forfeited its star due to a change in chefs this year; however, it was recognized with a commendation for being the Opening of the Year.

The capital did receive some positive news amidst the challenges. Three dining establishments in Brussels—Ongba located in Ixelles, Alley Mian situated in the city center, and Stone Dial in Uccle—were honored with the 'Bib Gourmand' distinction.
