Xiaomi Targets Europe with Electric Car Launch in 2027

The Chinese firm Xiaomi plans to introduce its electric vehicles to the European market in 2027. For this purpose, the manufacturer has already entered into letters of intent with automotive dealership organizations.
Prospective partners are anticipated to assist in developing a network of service centers and display rooms.
Xiaomi unveiled its international growth strategy at the IFA technology fair in Berlin. Yu Liguo, the vice president of Xiaomi's automotive division and leader of its international operations, characterized the European market as a key region for sustained investment.
Since the launch of the SU7 sports sedan in spring 2024, Xiaomi has provided over 700,000 cars to customers in China. The newly launched YU7 SUV garnered more than 240,000 pre-orders in just the first 18 hours following its introduction.
The SU7 has emerged as one of China’s top sedans in the price range of approximately €24,000. These findings have established the groundwork for the company’s continued growth in the automotive industry.
The producer was not in a hurry to initiate sales in Europe earlier as its production capacity was completely taken up by local demand. Simultaneously, Xiaomi has been demonstrating the features of its electric vehicles in Germany.

The athletic SU7 Ultra model established a lap record for luxury electric production cars at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The YU7 GT SUV successfully finished a lap of the track in autonomous mode.

The automotive sector has emerged as a crucial growth area for Xiaomi in addition to smartphone manufacturing. Electric vehicles are included in the “Human x Car x Home” ecosystem plan, which emphasizes the integration of vehicles, smartphones, and connected home devices.

The company employs its proprietary operating system and AI-driven applications to integrate these products. If the plans proceed, Xiaomi will start constructing its dealership and service network in Europe in 2027, signifying a crucial phase in the brand's worldwide growth.
