Daytona Secures $60M to Scale its AI Agent Infrastructure

Daytona has managed to raise $60 million in its Series B funding round to become a $1 billion valued business while building its cloud infrastructure platform for AI agents. This funding round takes the total investment by the company to $91 million and is another indication of investor interest in technologies allowing autonomous operations of AI systems.

FirstMark has taken the lead in the funding round along with some influential technology entrepreneurs like Patrick Collison of Stripe, Adam D’Angelo of Quora, Brendan Foody of Mercor, Tobi Lütke of Shopify, Olivier Pomel of Datadog, Aravind Srinivas of Perplexity, and Eric Yuan of Zoom.

Other investors in this funding round were Alumni Ventures, Evergreen Fund, Okta Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung Next, and Torch Capital. Additionally, some existing investors increased their stakes with Pace Capital doubling its investment, Upfront Ventures tripling its funding, and E2VC quadrupling its investment.

As more firms look to incorporate AI agents in their work flow processes, dependable infrastructure that can support execution, testing and deployment becomes one of the key elements of the technological stack. The new financing round of Daytona is likely to bolster its ability to build its platform in light of the changing requirements.

Daytona allows businesses to create computing environments for AI agents via one API call. It makes infrastructure provisioning and management more convenient so that developers do not have to deal with all technical aspects of creating computing environment.  Moreover, Daytona allows AI agents to suspend and then continue running their tasks without any data losses.

Daytona is scaling up its AI infrastructure services among firms like Anthropic, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Cursor, and Cognition. Other firms that use Daytona’s infrastructure include Meta, Cohere, Mercor, Handshake, Surge AI, SambaNova, Postman, Bolt.new, n8n, and Clay.

Furthermore, there have been indications that Daytona’s platform is gaining traction in terms of usage for training and evaluation of AI systems. The customers using Daytona's infrastructure include Snorkel and Trajectory. Also, Daytona has announced a massive boost in its business, mentioning that there has been a 25x increase in its revenue run rate from January through September.

This fresh round of investment is expected to enable the firm to go out of its sandbox product and build a more advanced cloud platform for AI agents. Among other initiatives, this is expected to involve expanding computing power, enhancing infrastructure services, and helping businesses scale their use of AI agents.

Daytona also plans to grow its worldwide employee base with new recruits in San Francisco, Croatia, and Singapore. This hiring will assist Daytona with its further development both from a technological perspective and internationally as the need for infrastructure to run advanced AI systems increases.
