Njord Survey Secures Three-Year RWE Offshore Wind Services Deal

Swedish survey firm Njord Survey has secured a three-year framework agreement with RWE Offshore Wind to provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services at the energy company’s offshore wind farms across UK and European waters.
Under the agreement, Njord Survey will conduct subsea survey activities to support RWE’s offshore wind assets. The financial terms of the agreement and the specific projects covered by the framework have not been disclosed.
The agreement strengthens Njord Survey’s presence in the offshore wind sector, where it has previously surveyed more than 23 complete wind farm areas. The company provides underwater inspection and evaluation services, seabed assessments, data analysis, and offshore operational support for wind farm operators and other marine projects.
Njord Survey said the activities under the new framework will involve what it describes as carbon-neutral survey campaigns. The approach will focus on reducing emissions from survey vessels while maintaining data quality, operational safety, and accuracy during offshore operations.
“We are extremely proud to establish this long-term agreement with RWE,” said Philip Ljungström, Project Director, Njord Survey. “It reinforces our role as a reliable ally for the offshore wind sector and enables us to continue providing high-resolution data with accuracy, safety, and low-emission vessel operations.”

Martin Wikmar, CEO, Njord Survey, said the agreement would strengthen the company’s position in the growing offshore wind market. He noted that the increasing number of operational wind farms is creating a greater need among asset owners for regular inspection and monitoring services.

ROV technology enables operators to conduct underwater surveys and inspections without requiring divers to directly access subsea infrastructure. Such services can help offshore wind developers monitor seabed conditions and underwater assets as part of ongoing maintenance and asset management activities.

For Njord Survey, the agreement with RWE represents an opportunity to expand its long-term involvement in European offshore wind projects while delivering subsea survey services with a focus on lower-emission vessel operations.
