Capgemini Invent Names Gaurav Bedekar Managing Director for Europe

Capgemini Invent has named Gaurav Bedekar as Managing Director for Growth Markets in Northern and Central Europe, after a three-and-a-half-year leadership role in its Middle East operations. In his new position, Bedekar will operate throughout the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland to boost growth, enhance market performance, and promote AI-driven transformation efforts in the area.
Bedekar transitions to the Northern and Central Europe role after holding the position of Managing Director at Capgemini Invent Middle East from January 2023 to June 2026.
Throughout his time in the role, he guided the expansion of the Middle East operations, emphasizing the enhancement of market influence, client relationships, innovation, and teamwork across international teams. In his shift to the new position, Sandeep Bhatia is taking over the leadership of the Middle East business.
Prior to overseeing the Middle East business, Bedekar served as Vice President and was part of the Global Leadership Team for Enterprise Transformation at Capgemini Invent. His mandate encompassed transformation from innovation strategy to execution across various industries, emphasizing data-driven acceleration, comprehensive transformation capabilities, and the scaling of personnel and technology platforms. He also spearheaded the growth of a Data and AI capability unit from approximately 150 to over 1,500 individuals.
Previously, in the role of Senior Director and Head of Enterprise Data & Analytics, Bedekar emphasized business transformation through data, AI-powered business collaborations, finance driven by data, risk and compliance consulting, and analytics concerning personnel. Before joining Capgemini Invent, he worked for four years at Capgemini as Director and Head of Finance, Risk & Compliance, overseeing business portfolios in the UK, US, APAC, and India, after having been a Senior Manager in the same field.

Bedekar’s previous experience encompasses over four years at Tata Consultancy Services, where he contributed to the Global Analytics & Insights Unit in areas such as sales, strategy, solutions, and analytics.

Prior to joining TCS, he worked as a Risk Strategy Specialist at J.P. Morgan, where he managed P&L and credit strategy for consumer banking portfolios, encompassing acquisitions, portfolio management, collections, and fraud. He started his career in analytics and modeling at Symphony Marketing Solutions, focusing on pricing, marketing mix, promotion, and channel optimization models for international clients.

Bedekar has a Master’s degree in Economics focused on Econometrics from the University of Mumbai and has studied Digital Transformation: Leading People, Data, and Technology at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. In his new position, he will collaborate closely with regional leaders, like Alex Slater, to enhance client focus, forge strategic alliances, broaden mid-market prospects, and assist clients in discovering new growth avenues via AI-driven transformation.
