Manulife Appoints Sarah Chapman as Global Marketing & CX Officer

Manulife has named Sarah Chapman as the Global Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer, starting January 1, 2027, reporting to Phil Witherington, President and Chief Executive Officer, and becoming part of Manulife's Executive Leadership Team.

Chapman will head Manulife's Global Marketing division, overseeing the company's branding, marketing, and overall customer experience initiatives.

"Sarah is a demonstrated global leader with extensive understanding of our company, clients, and corporate strategy," stated Phil Witherington, President and Chief Executive Officer, Manulife.

"Her appointment showcases the robustness of our internal talent pool and stems from careful succession planning. I am assured that her strategic insight, creativity, and proven history in guiding transformation will enable us to enhance our momentum, strengthen our customer emphasis, and further Manulife's goal of becoming the top choice for customers,” adds Phil Witherington.

Chapman is presently the Chief Marketing Officer at Manulife Canada and oversees the organization's worldwide initiatives in Digital, Customer Centricity, and Sustainability. She formerly held the position of Chief Marketing Officer for Manulife Wealth and Asset Management. Her experience in leadership encompasses marketing strategy, brand management, digital initiatives, analytics, customer experience, and sustainability.

Chapman replaces Karen Leggett, who is set to retire from Manulife at the year's end, ensuring a seamless leadership transition.
