Oriva Therapeutics appoints Dr Agnès Arbat as CEO

Oriva Therapeutics, a Spain-based biotechnology company focused on advancing innovative treatments for women’s health, has announced the appointment of Dr Agnès Arbat as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment comes as the company accelerates the development of its clinical-stage pipeline and prepares for its next phase of growth.

Dr Arbat brings more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, with extensive expertise spanning clinical development, medical affairs, and commercial strategy.

Throughout her career, she has built a strong reputation in women’s health, contributing to the advancement of numerous therapeutic programs and product launches.

Over the years, Dr Arbat has played a key role in more than 20 clinical studies focused on women’s health. She has also been involved in the successful launch of over 10 products, including Nexplanon, Xarelto, and Ventavis, demonstrating her ability to guide innovations from development through commercialization.

Before joining Oriva Therapeutics, Dr Arbat served as co-founder and CEO of Oxolife, a biotechnology company specializing in female fertility treatments. Earlier in her career, she led the Women’s Health and Cardiovascular medical team at Bayer and held positions in Medical Affairs for Women’s Health at Organon, further strengthening her expertise in the field.

Founded earlier this year with the backing of Asabys Partners, Oriva Therapeutics is focused on developing transformative therapies for conditions that significantly impact women’s health.

The company’s pipeline includes two advanced clinical-stage programs. Its lead candidate, ORV-362, is being developed as a first-in-class, non-hormonal, disease-modifying treatment for endometriosis. The company is also advancing ORV-499, a programme targeting uterine fibroids.
