The announcement underscores SAP’s enduring commitment to the French market as a long-term technology partner. It also supports national and European objectives related to digital sovereignty, trusted innovation, and strategic autonomy.

Leveraging existing partnerships in trusted and sovereign cloud environments, SAP is expanding its cloud capabilities to support evolving regulatory and security requirements. The company aims to broaden collaboration with French and European AI stakeholders to drive the development of trusted Business AI that safeguards data, intellectual property, and business-critical decision-making.

SAP’s investment roadmap is focused on strengthening sovereign cloud platforms in France, advancing trusted Business AI solutions aligned with French and European regulations. The organization is also committed in creating high-skilled employment opportunities across cloud engineering, AI innovation, and service operations.

The company aims to establish a new SecNumCloud-certified sovereign cloud and AI region in Paris by Q1 2027. The investment is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in cloud and AI services, while Thales has been identified as a flagship customer, transitioning its SAP environment to the S3NS trusted cloud offering.

An important point of the project includes the possibility that SAP will be the first company, other than French companies, to obtain SecNumCloud certification for its cloud computing services in France. This represents a big step towards a collaborative relationship between France and Germany in digital technology.

Supporting France’s long-term innovation ambitions, SAP continues to invest in advanced AI platforms that combine security, governance, and business value.
