World Rugby, Mitsubishi Electric Europe Strengthen Ties as WXV Evolves

World Rugby and Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. have renewed their successful global alliance, with Mitsubishi Electric enhancing its dedication to the women's sport by backing the WXV Global Series.
After initially collaborating for the first WXV event in 2023, Mitsubishi Electric will enhance its support through a broadened partnership that showcases the ongoing development of the competition.
Under the updated agreement, Mitsubishi Electric takes on the role of presenting partner for the WXV Global Series and WXV Global Series Challenger, featuring more than 100 international matches over three years leading to the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2029.
The collaboration will further improve the fan experience by providing premium digital content, featuring profiles of top-performing players and exclusive digital activations aimed at connecting supporters with the best players and teams in the world during the competition.
In addition to its collaboration with World Rugby, the company has further enhanced its backing for the sport through recent alliances with Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) and the Rugby Players’ Association (RPA), contributing to the ongoing growth, visibility, and advancement of women's rugby at both international and domestic levels.

WXV brings together the finest players and teams globally, providing a robust international platform to promote the sport, motivate future talent, and persist in creating something enduring, both on and off the field.

The WXV Global Series showcases 18 top women's national teams globally, engaging in a fresh international competition format within a specific eight-week period from September to October. The leading 12 teams engage in a home-and-away, cross-regional touring format, while six developing nations participate in the centrally held WXV Global Series Challenger from 13-26 September at the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground.
