ClearSky Airlines is set to launch a foundational fleet of five fully electric BETA Technologies ALIA CTOL CX300 planes to advance the e-Smart Group’s carbon reduction goals.
In November of the previous year, the e-Smart Group ordered the aircraft, capable of transporting loads of up to 500 kgs across distances of up to 500 km on a direct flight.
Moreover, they will generate no direct CO₂ and NOx emissions along with minimal noise, potentially enabling nighttime operations throughout Europe, according to e-Smart Avia.
From its intended primary operational hub at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, with more European operational sites within the network, ClearSky Airlines will first provide scheduled services for strategic logistics partners, in addition to premium charter flights for clients in the life sciences, healthcare, aerospace, automotive, high-value goods, and other urgent sectors across Europe.
e-Smart Avia announced that they are seriously considering forming strategic partnerships with multiple long-haul airlines to establish consistent air feeder services.

After the recent announcement of a collaboration with aerospace leasing specialist SLI, which will fund the asset financing for the initial fleet of ClearSky Airlines, e-Smart Avia will now concentrate on the operational and regulatory groundwork necessary to establish a new airline.
This involves advancing its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) application aiming for certification by 2027, obtaining commercial agreements from initial customers, and strengthening the ClearSky Airlines management team.

“The introduction of ClearSky Airlines marks a crucial time not only to bring electric aviation into the commercial sector but also to unveil new air services like ‘air-feeder services,’ which are detrimental to the environment and costly for consumers when using conventional aircraft,” stated Stan Wraight, a co-founder of e-Smart Group.
